There is a significant gap between a person's rehabilitation and the faith community. So, how do we build a bridge?
A 2015 study published in the National Institute of Health demonstrated that spirituality and positive community support significantly reduced the number of relapses.
Everyone is hurting from something in life. According to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services, as many as 90% of those addicted do not seek professional help.
The church must reach them where they are.
God comforts us in our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we've received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
Our trials and suffering are not meant to be kept to ourselves, but used to walk alongside others as they become reconciled to God.
Dear Friend,
As you know, the drug epidemic in our nation has resulted in too many lives lost and many homes broken by it's crippling effects. Addiction is wide spread and non-biased as we see all races, genders, social economic standing and denominations impacted.
Our community faith leaders believe now is the time to lock arms and work together on a collective impact model that will help deliver people from substance abuse and this effort begins with the #LoveEpidemic.
The vision for The #LoveEpidemic Collaborative was birthed by a group of stakeholders within the faith community who began to dream about what it could look like for everyone of faith to come together to fight the addiction epidemic in our city.

DownloadThe #LoveEpidemic Faith Community Collaborative embodies the belief that we are created in mind, body, and spirit and all aspects should be treated, not separately, but holistically and equally. We also believe that there are many equal partners and that not one person is to get credit individually, but God, Himself. However, He has given us each a piece of the puzzle, regardless of our beliefs, to heal our communities.
